About fourteen people have been killed in a head on collision between a taxi and a truck on the N1 outside Laingsburg.
It is alleged; the taxi driver overtook a vehicle and collided with the truck.
Provincial Metro Emergencies Medical Services Kery Davids said among the dead is a child under the age of 12, two babies under 2, women and men.
The road was closed to traffic earlier this morning but one lane has now been opened.
