ANC Youth League not down and out

Lusanda Bill
25 September 2010

The African National Congress’ National General Council came to an end yesterday.

Wits University-based political analyst Susan Booysen has stated that the Youth League had suffered a blow but she says it’s far from permanent.

Booysen also added that the country had not seen the last of Julius Malema.

In the NGC the youth league failed in its bid for a generational mix in the ANC’s top structures, and failed in its effort to start getting its former president Fikile Mbalula to replace secretary general Gwede Mantashe in 2012.

The Youth League also wanted the disciplinary action taken against Julius Malema to be reversed but they failed.
