The death toll in the Laingsburg accident has now risen to 23. Another male victim involved in yesterday’s taxi and truck collision has passed away in the Tygerberg Hospital, early this morning.
The 30 year old truck driver was released from hospital and taken back to Johannesburg yesterday afternoon.
The other four survivors, three females, age 6, 13 and14 and one male, age 6 are still in a serious condition in Worcester and Laingsburg hospitals.
The post mortem is currently underway in Oudtshoorn, and the names of the deceased has been released.
All the occupants were Malawi nationals.
