Traffic officer dies in a shootout in Gauteng

A Gauteng traffic officer was shot today and another one is fighting for his life in hospital at a garage.

It is believed the traffic officer spotted a suspicious looking car and stopped next to it.

One of the officers then got into the suspect’s vehicle that is when the driver shot the police officer in the head.

The second police was also shot in the stomach and he returned fire and killed one of the suspects. The shooting happened at a Shell garage in Turffontein in southern Johannesburg.

Police are now investigating the incident.
