Strand police have arrested a 32-year-old father for allegedly assaulting his young daughter in Cape Town.
The father allegedly threw the toddler against a wall by her feet during an argument between her parents earlier this week.
Police spokesperson Godfrey Tawana says the father was arrested under the Child Care Act.
Tawana says the man faces charges of child abuse and will appear in the Strand Magistrate Court on Monday the 25th of October 2010.
