Four people have been arrested for fraud estimated at R2.5million at the Nketoana municipality in Reitz.
Sergeant Mmako Mophiring said police were notified of attempts to withdraw money from accounts, which were frozen by a bank and the municipality.
Sergeant Mmako Mophiring said the money was transferred from the municipality's accounts through the internet and paid into different private accounts.
The four are expected to appear in the Reitz Magistrate's Court facing charges of fraud.
