Today authorities will begin an investigation into the cause of a fire at the Pretoria Magistrate’s Court, which happened yesterday afternoon.
It is believed that arson may have caused the fire that destroyed more than 20-thousand court documents.
The Justice Department says every effort is being made to minimise the effect of the fire on court proceedings.
It says electronic backup systems will be used to retrieve important documents.
No one was injured in the fire.
