Two injured during a bank robbery

Several armed men today robbed a bank in Montague Gardens today in Cape Town.

It has been reported that the armed men robbed a security guard carrying a cash box inside the bank.

The armed men held ten employees at gunpoint before forcing them to open the box.

Netcare 911 spokesperson Lauren Copley said “the robbers assaulted both the guard and a female bank employee. The paramedic treating them on scene said they sustained head lacerations and bruises”.

The injured were taken to Milnerton Medi Clinic. Police are expected to release more information about the robbery later today.
