WC to get a permanent police commissioner

Lusanda Bill
24 November 2010

The province of the Western Cape should expect a permanent police commissioner by the end of this week.

Arno Lamoer has been serving as the acting Western Cape police chief since October.

Western Cape Premier Helen Zille today said “I have had several meetings with Arno Lamoer and I said we have to, as people who are applying the law, be the first ones to apply the law in the things we do”.

Zille added that she wants the correct selection process to be followed all the time.
