Western Cape transport authorities have expressed their disappointment following the freak accident that killed ten people outside Leeu Gamka on the N1 highway in the Karoo this morning.
A taxi burst into flames after it was hit by a steel pipe that fell off a truck that had overturned on the highway.
Western Cape Transport MEC, Robin Carlisle says they are seriously looking into the matter.
Carlisle added that all taxis travellining on the N1 will have to be thoroughly checked and monitored.
