With China being one of the countries with the most contribution to carbon emission, about 40 non-governmental organisations in China have collided in combating Climate Change. They have come up with an initiative called C+.
C+ stands for commitment, climate change and China. The C+ Initiative group aims to get everyone involved in playing their part in the fight of climate change. This initiative was launched in September 2011.
The group says they support the Chinese government’s pledge made in Copenhagen to reduce carbon intensity and hopes to provide support for even stronger action.
C+ says curbing Climate change is not only a job for government’s, but also for civil societies, individuals and industries within society. They say by this initiative they are aiming to get everybody across the world to be involved in fighting climate change and living low-carbon lifestyle. #COP17
