Lusanda Bill
15 December 2011
Fedusa has welcomed acting President Kgalema Motlanthe’s declaration of Tuesday, the 27th of December, as a public holiday.
The Federation of Unions of South Africa had written to President Jacob Zuma asking him to declare an additional public holiday.
The reason for the request was because Christmas falls on a Sunday this year.
Fedusa’s Dennis George says the gesture will go a long way to strengthen workers’ morale in a difficult socio-economic environment.
