An American youth was ejected from the Climate Talks earlier today while calling for necessary climate progress to take place.
A statement today said that Abigail Borah urged for a fair and binding climate treaty from her country as the USA holds strong to its woefully inadequate and voluntary commitments made in the Cancun Agreement.
She voiced her opinion just before the US negotiator Todd Stern took the stand to address the members at COP17. Abigail Borah highlighted that the obstructionist Congress has shackled a just and delayed ambition for far too long.
America remains the country that wants to hold off the necessary emissions reduction targets until the year 2020, although they are one of the biggest emitters. The country continues to negotiate on borrowed time from future generations, forcing the younger generation to solve the worsening issue of climate change. #COP17
