MEC Dan Plato to root out gangsterism

Western Cape Community Safety MEC Dan Plato today said his department would work on addressing the root causes of gangsterism in violent Cape Town neighborhoods this year.

The residents of Lavender Hill ,Hanover Park and Elsies Rivier reported the safest communities over the festive season .

Gangs in all three areas signed peace treaties in the months leading up to the festive season.

Plato said they will do their best to remove the youth from the streets.

He further said they will do some progrmmes in those areas to ensure they keep the peace.
