Western Cape MEC for education Donald Grant said he is proud of the pass rate at underperforming schools.
In 2011 there were 30 schools in theWestern Cape where the grade 12s didn’t even
manage to receive a 60 percent pass rate.
He said the increase in the pass rate took effort from all leadership, district officers, principals and educators.
Grant said it was heart warming to see a principal brought to tears after hearing the pass rate at that school has been brought to 90 percent for the first time ever.
