23 January 2012
The National Youth Development Agency (NYDA) has announced three back to school campaigns to benefit impoverished pupils.
The agency said while the national matric pass rate improved to 70.2 percent, the country's education system was still faced with many inadequacies.
The NYDA will be progressing out a career guidance plan at various schools to encourage matriculants to register early for further education.
The NYDA also offered 10 bursaries to underprivileged university hopefuls and would be spending R360,000 to supply nine schools with mobile science laboratories.
