Rescuers suspect that the body of Jerome Booysen might have sunk tot the bottom of the ocean floor and decomposed.
Last week Booysen was swept out to sea by a strong rip current at Lagoon Beach in Milnerton.
Booysen and his friend tried to rescue two females from drowning when he found himself in difficulty.
The City’s Disaster Risk Management Wilfred Solomons-Johannes said that patrols were conducted along the coastline and officers on foot along the shoreline near to where it is reported he gone missing.
