The Western Cape Transport Department said that its toll operator Entilini is expected to answer to a alternative proposal for Chapman’s Peak.
The Hout Bay Civil Rights Action Group (CRAG), is opposing the R54 million construction.
CRAG’s Terry Wyner said, he recieved a mail on Friday which stated that the department needed a couple of days, except that they are carrying on with the construction.
However Western Cape Transport MEC Robin Carlisle said they will continue with the construction of the canopy as this will form part of whichever plan they work on.
