Health Minister Aaron Motsoaledi says that many politicians are overweight because food is always made available to them.

During a briefing in Parliament, Motsoaledi said even a prominent bishop had complained to him.

The bishop complained that he was regularly overwhelmed with food when he visited his congregation.

The Minister stressed that it is important for politicians to follow a healthy diet and exercise regularly in order to set an example to the public.
