A man arrested for child abandonment

A 32-year-old man has been charged with child abandonment.

This comes after he and his partner left their nine-month-old child inside their parked car.

 The incident happened in Wynberg today.

Cape Town police were alerted by the members of the public.

Police spokesperson November Filander said security guards managed to get the child out of the vehicle.
