Mayoral Committee submitted a budget proposal to the City of Cape Town

City of Cape Town’s Mayoral Committee member for Safety and Security JP Smith said that his department needs to do whatever that is needed with the budget they will be allocated in the next financial year.

The department made submissions to the city's Budget Steering Committee to make provision for the recruitment of 200 additional staff in the metro police and traffic services.

The City of Cape Town`s budget is expected to be announced at the end of March.

Smith said that he is not sure that they will be granted that much funding.
