Julius Malema and other youth league leaders have lost their bid to have their guilty verdicts for sowing division in the ANC and bringing the party into disrepute overturned.

The National Disciplinary Committee of appeals chairperson Cyril Ramaphosa announced this afternoon.

The announcement had a two hour delay due to what the Chairperson said was an “unavoidable reason”.

The statement was made at a press conference at the ANC’s Luthuli House headquarters in central Johannesburg.

The NDCA did grant the League's appeal against a charge that they disrupted the ANC’s 2010 national general council meeting in Durban.
