Two Cape Town police constables appeared in the Mitchells Plain Magistrate's Court today.

The two constables are charged with corruption.

The men, aged 31 and 32, were allegedly bribed by a minibus taxi driver.

The alleged crime took place in Rocklands on Friday.

The officers pulled over the driver allegedly for reckless driving.

Police Spokesperson Captain F C van Wyk said that the constables were arrested after they had convinced the taxi driver to give them R140 after which they let him go.
