Cape Town female entrepreneurs on Thursday said that doing business with government depended mainly on who you knew.

The women were networking with Science and Technology Minister Naledi Pandor and Western Cape Finance MEC Alan Winde on the role of women in business.

Winde said that over R700 million of government tenders went to women-owned service providers in 2011.

Thembeka Guqa who owns a security company said that getting business remained a challenge for them.

Guqa added that when you know someone in a certain place then it is easy for you to get that business.
