The Western Cape High Court has dismissed an application to halt the construction of a toll plaza and office building on Chapman’s Peak with costs.
The application was launched on behalf of the public by the Hout Bay Residents Association and the Habitat Council.
Transport and public works MEC Robin Carlisle was one of five respondents in the matter.
The respondent’s lawyer, Advocate Sean Rosenberg, said the applicants had a blatant disregard for the procedure.
He added that there was no reason for an urgent application as the arguments will be heard in April and construction of the offices is set to continue in May.
