Khayelitsha residents have expressed different views on the vigilante killings that have been happening in the area recently.

Some residents are against it, while others believe it is justifiable.

The Western Cape Community Safety MEC Dan Plato today met with the police commisioner in the Western Cape Arno Lamoer to discus possible ways of combating mob justice.

Dan Plato said that there seems to be a communication failure between the police and the residents.

Plato said that some of the victims were stoned to death and others necklaced.

Plato added that such cruelty is not welcome.
