The Department of Cooperative Governance and Traditional Affairs in KwaZulu- Natal today said that they are worried about the situation there.

Officials said things may worsen following heavy floods in parts of the province this afternoon.

This is due to cyclone Irina which was downgraded to torrential rainfall.

Officials said a woman broke both her legs after her mud hut collapsed on top of her in Jozini.

Up to 300 homes are flooded and officials are busy with evacuations and mop up operations to alleviate the situation.
