Parliament welcomes Western Cape High Courts ruling

Parliament confirmed today that they welcomed the ruling of the Western Cape High Court to dismiss with costs an application by MP Mario Oriani-Ambrosini for leave to appeal a ruling in favour of the National Assembly.

He wanted to appeal the ruling by the same court.

In December last year the court ruled against him in his attempts to force National Assembly speaker Max Sisulu to allow the introduction of his bill without following proper procedure.

The court has once again confirmed that parliament acted constitutionally.
