Parliament Social Development Committee said yesterday that they are fully behind an attempt to keep a group of men accused of trafficking children in Durban behind bars.
The three men’s bail applications were postponed yesterday in a Durban court.
The committee’s chairperson Yolanda Botha said opposing the bail would a very strong message that the government and the judiciary are opposed to human trafficking.
She added that it will also show the importance of children’s rights in cases like these.
