The Western Cape premier Helen Zille said that the ANC was misguided in calling her a racist.
The DA leader referred to Eastern Cape children flocking to Western Cape schools as refugees.
She was referring to the recent incident which took place at the Umyezo Wama Apile Combined School in Grabouw.
The ANC said the DA leader was a racist for saying what she did.
Zille said the term refugee is often used to include a displaced person because they have been forced to migrate within their own countries.
She added that this is exactly what applies to children looking for education in the Eastern Cape.
