Congress of South African Trade Unions issued a statement on Tuesday that they will be embarking on an extensive strike campaign against the Gauteng e-tolling system.
Cosatu says they instructed their entire membership of more than two million workers to participate in rallies and demonstrations.
Cosatu`s Patrick Craven says the protests will be held at the offices of the South African National Roads Agency, and the Department of Transport next week.
Craven says that there will also be a national stay away on the 30th of April, when the tolls are scheduled to be introduced.
