The roads agency announced that close on 50-thousand registered public transport vehicles still needed to be placed on the e-tag system which kicks off on Monday.

The measure is part of adjustment to the draft legislation which allows for taxis, emergency vehicles and buses to be excluded from paying for tolls.

The system’s implementation is being challenged in the North Gauteng High Court today.

The Opposition to Urban Tolling Alliance has filed an urgent application in a proposal to stop the project.
