Archbishop Emeritus Desmond Tutu on Friday was presented with Panama’s highest award for international diplomacy and human solidarity.
The Panama’s deputy minister of foreign affairs Alvarez de Soto's presented the Order of Vasco Nunes de Balboa to Tutu and his South African counterpart Deputy Minister Marius Fransman in Cape Town.
Tutu says that the award he received was in honor of those who helped to bring an end to apartheid.
Tutu added that when you are in a crowd and you stand out from the crowd it is only because you are carried in the shoulders of others.
