Yesterday morning Gugulethu police arrested three suspects aged 19, 34 and 36 in connection with the murder of 14-year-old Nontombi Jonginamba last week.
The police’s November Filander said the suspects were arrested after valuable information was given to the police by the public on the whereabouts of the alleged suspects.
Last Wednesday Gugulethu police discovered the 14-year-old girl’s body at a premises in Mpumulelo Krwakrwa Street in Gugulethu.
The girl’s mother searched for her when she did not return home.
The girl was found with a pillow over her face and stab wounds to her body and police say she was not raped.
Filander said the three suspects will appear in the Athlone Magistrates Court tomorrow.
