Over the weekend the Western Cape traffic officials conducted 24 road blocks across Cape Town.
Traffic Chief Kenny Africa says they stopped 2 639 vehicles of which 1 271 were screened for alcohol.
20 drivers were arrested for drunk driving. The highest reading was 0.9 milligrams per litre this was in the Brackenfell area.
Kenny Africa says they will continue conducting road blocks across the Western Cape.
