The Cape Chamber of Commerce and Industry has expressed their concern over the rising cost of local government.

The chamber will meet with the City of Cape Town on the 15th of May 2012 to discuss this.

The chamber’s deputy-president Gordan Metter said the rising costs affects business and every increase in cost means that there is a focus on whether business can afford the jobs that are on offer.

He added that they are concerned because business is really the life blood of the city.

Metter further said the tariff increase which is above the inflation rate call for concern.
