It has recently emerged that doctors in the Eastern Cape has not been paid since December last year.
The South African Medical Association (SAMA) said the administration in the province’s health department is in chaos.
SAMA acting chairperson Dr Mark Sonderup said there has been recent criticism of doctors who don’t want to work in the Eastern Cape.
He added that the same administration that failed to pay the doctors is calling these doctors unpatriotic for not wanting to work in the province.
