The Gauteng police are on the lookout for a Dobsonville priest who is accused of raping a 10-year-old girl during an all-night prayer vigil.

Gauteng police Spokesperson Kay Makhubela says that the rape allegedly took place on the 14th of April 2012, but the girl only told her family about it on Friday.

Makhubela says apparently the girl had attended a prayer meeting with her parents, but the priest took her to another room to pray for her.

He added that it is alleged that he then raped her.

The police have been to the priest's house but did not find him.
