The Japanese fishing trawler that ran ashore off the coast of Cape Town has been towed back out to sea.

The Eihatsu Maru made it back into deep waters today after getting stuck on Clifton’s First beach on Saturday.

The SA Maritime Safety Authority used a tug boat to tow the vessel off the beach during high tide.

No injuries were sustained in the rescue and all of the crew are safely on board.
