The Department of Trade and Industry says consumers need to be given a choice to buy products that are labeled.
Trade and Industry Minister Rob Davies say goods originating from the Occupied Palestinian Territories are to be labelled as such.
Davies says this is an effort to help South Africans who do not support Israel to identify products made in the Palestinian.
He also said they are not seeking to promote a boycott.
Davies says it is up to consumers as to what to purchase and they have to know the origin of the products they are purchasing.
