A 22-year-old man was critically injured after he lost control of his car and struck a tree in Bloemfontein.
Reports show that the man lost control of his car due to wet weather conditions.
Netcare 911’s Jeffery Wicks said paramedics arrived at the scene they found the man in a critical condition.
Wicks said the man was treated and stabilised on the scene while still being trapped in the wreckage.
The man was freed by firefighters using the Jaws of Life.
He was then transported to hospital.
The series of events leading up to the accident and the cause will be investigated by the police.
