Rights group AfriForum plans to push government to declare farm murders a priority crime in South Africa.
This follows another farm attack yesterday, where a 77-year-old man was shot dead and his wife injured on their farm in Baltimore in Limpopo.
The group’s Deputy CEO Ernst Roets says they have submitted a memorandum to the Minister of Police Nathi Mthetwa calling for the establishment of a special rural safety unit.
Roets also slammed the ANC Youth League’s Ronald Lamola for allegedly inciting violence during a speech made in Durban on Tuesday.
