The Congress of South African Trade Unions in the Western Cape is opposed to the closure of 27 schools in the province.

The Provincial Education Department has announced that non-performing schools will be closed.

Today at a press conference in Bellville, Cosatu’s Tony Ehrenreich highlighted some of the issues.

He says this closure will have devastating results on the learners.

He added that this is tampering with the future of the learners in the province and will lead to overcrowding in schools.
