The Freedom Front has warned against tampering with existing Christian religious holidays.

Public hearings are being held by the Commission for the promotion and protection of the rights of Religious, Cultural and Language communities on public holidays in South Africa.

Freedom Front spokesperson Dr CornĂ© Mulder says 78% of South Africa’s residents indicate that they are Christians.

He says only two Christian holidays are officially recognised Good Friday and Christmas. The party has called on all Christian churches to participate in the hearings.
