On Thursday Metro Police presented their report to the City’s Safety and Security Committee.
The report shows that Metro Police have exceeded their arrest targets in Cape Town’s biggest problem areas in the past financial year.
The City of Cape Town’s Executive Director for Safety and Security Richard Bosman said the new annual police plan that they submitted, has been approved by the provincial police commissioner of the Western Cape.
He said it has been aligned with the SAPS strategies.
Bosman said they have three broad focus areas, one looking at illegal drugs, looking at illegal liquor and to remove as many illegal firearms off the roads.
