Emergency medical services responded to a scene where a man crashed into a streetlamp in Woodstock.
Emergency services spokesperson Keri Davids said the Jaws of Life was used to free the male driver from his car.
Davids said the man was declared dead shortly after his removal.
Rescuers said that the vehicle he was travelling in was severely damaged.
Davids said two passengers sustained serious head and spinal wounds.
The injured was taken to hospital for further medical care.
