A serious accident occurred on Monday morning on the N2 Highway in Somerset West, Sir Lowry’s Pass.

The single vehicle accident involved a 21-year-old female.

At this stage the cause of the accident remains unclear.

ER24s Andre Visser said the female allegedly lost control of her vehicle.

He added that the vehicle then veered off the road before overturning multiple times.

ER24 paramedics later arrived at the scene to find that bystanders had already removed the female from the vehicle.

Visser said paramedics then treated the driver at the scene for suspected head injuries as well as back and neck injuries.

The driver was then rushed to the nearby hospital for further medical care.
