Afrikaans singer caught for speeding

Gauteng traffic police has said that a singer from the Afrikaans group Romanz will appear in court this week.

He was arrested for speeding while on his way to a performance.

A spokesperson for the traffic police said Adam Barnard was on his way to perform with his group at a wedding in Worcester in the Boland.

He claimed he was late for his flight at OR Tambo International Airport after being caught doing 189km/h on Johannesburg’s R21.

He was released on bail of R1 000.
