The City of Cape Town has plans to hire more than 100 new metro police, traffic officers and law enforcement staff over the next few months.
The hiring of these metro police will mean more dedicated metro police for certain areas.
In total 23 million-Rand will go towards hiring 113 new staff.
Mayoral Committee Member for Safety and Security JP Smith said there was a significant additional budget added to second security budget in complying with the City integrated development plan.
Smith added that the budget for the additional staff was approved by the Mayoral Committee on Tuesday.
