Correctional Services to rehabilitate offenders through music

Today Correctional Services Minister Sibusiso Ndebele will deliver a speech at the South African National Offender Jazz Festival.

This is the first Festival to be hosted and it is held at Grootvlei prison in Bloemfontein.

Department Spokesperson Logan Maistry said this is part of rehabilitation through the Arts and about 200 prisoners from correctional centres across the country will participate in the festival.

Maistry said government is passionate about giving support to rehabilitate offenders.

He added that members of the society are welcome to attend the festival.
